LWML has several projects in which everyone in the congregation can participate. You can collect stamps or mites, or help with Lutheran World Relief (LWR) supplies:
- Stamps – LWML collects used stamps, and sells them to stamp collectors to pay for LWR shipping expenses. Just snip off the corner of the envelope with the stamp, being sure not to cut into the stamp itself. They are trimmed later, so even the whole envelope can be given. A box is on the table in the narthex.
- Mites – loose change adds up! Mites are used to fund mission projects around the world. Check the LWML display wall in the north stairwell to find where mission mites are being used. Look for the big mite box on the table in the narthex.
- LWR supplies – When LWR distributes Personal Care Kits, it’s often to people who have lost everything. In the wake of an earthquake, or having fled from violence as their homes were overtaken. Personal Care Kits contain a towel, bar soap, comb, metal nail clippers, and a toothbrush. A box is in the narthex to collect items and gives more information.
