“Let’s Sign!”, an introductory ASL event held on September 28th, was attended by sixteen members from St. Paul and four from Jesus Deaf Lutheran Church. Across four sessions throughout the day, participants learned the ABCs in ASL and practiced basic conversational and theological church signs. Participants were also introduced to the uniqueness of Deaf culture and the differences in worship between the Deaf church services and the services most of us are familiar with at St Paul. By deepening the understanding and appreciation of one another, the event served to strengthen the bond between our two congregations.
