JOY (Just Older Youth) event: A duck adventure tour of Austin! Thirty members of St. Paul came together for the tour, which encompassed downtown Austin, Lake Austin, and several interests in between the two. During their time on the bus, duck bill-shaped noise quackers were given to all the participants and at the direction of the guide, everyone quacked at pedestrians and smiled and waved. It was a beautiful day with great weather for enjoying time outside, which was fortunate, because the tour’s original bus overheated in front of the Capitol, and the group had to wait for a replacement! But they soon got on their way again, and were able to experience quite the adventure as the amphibious “duck” bus drove down the boat ramp and straight into the water to explore Lake Austin. After the tour concluded, many of the group added a stop at the Moonshine Grill for lunch and more fellowship time together.
